It’s official: Come July 1, there will be repercussions for those who smoke on city property.
The Lebanon City Council voted unanimously on Wednesday night to adopt the policy, which also extends to chewing tobacco and e-cigarettes.
City officials say they are planning to build designated smoking areas to accommodate smokers.
The ban was largely viewed as a positive change and was welcomed by many residents, including those who attended Wednesday night’s meeting to offer their support for the policy.
