Ahh, June. It evokes images of plentiful sunshine and bright colors, maybe even the beach. With its arrival comes the comfort of knowing that summer is just around the corner.

UNLESS YOU LIVE IN VERMONT, WHERE THERE’S STILL SNOW BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE.

That’s right — snow is still kicking around the Green Mountain State, mostly because it gets cold AF at night. (And sometimes during the days, too. It’s been chilly in the Upper Valley the past couple of weeks!)

Anyway, if you’ve been slow to put your skis away for the season, you’re in luck: Killington Ski Resort is open today (June 1), and lift tickets are free. #wootwoot

Behold, the pile of snow that refuses to die.

No, not that Snow. Do you know nothing?

WCVB-TV reports that Killington has been stockpiling snow in anticipation of one last hurrah, and the time has come.

Judging from the Facebook comments and replies, Killington’s staff has been super enthusiastic about this, pledging T-shirts for the first couple hundred or so guests and promising to print up ski tickets that say June 1 (you know, as a momento. It’s not every day you get to ski in June, after all).
