This is the best news I’ve gotten in a long time.

My sister and I were very fortunate to have spent a great deal of time growing up with our maternal grandparents. They played as large a role in our raising as our parents did. In the summers, while our parents were at work, we’d stay with our grandparents, Nana and Papa, during the workweek and reunite with our parents on the weekends.

There were many joys that came from this, but one of our favorite things — a perk, if you will — was that Nana and Papa were much more inclined to let us occasionally eat a sugary cereal in the morning. Shortly after it debuted, my sister and I fell hopelessly in love with Post Mills’ Oreo O’s.

Oreos. For breakfast. My 7-year-old self was hype to wake up and eat (I still am, but hey). For years I actually looked forward to eating cereal.

Our world came crashing down in 2007, when Post Mills decided to pull Oreo O’s from the shelves. When, years later, we found out it was still being produced in South Korea, my sister and I resigned ourselves to the fact that we were going to have to make a trip across the sea and began packing our bags.

NO MORE, FOLKS. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED BY THE CEREAL GODS.

I found out via Twitter on Thursday night that Oreo O’s are coming BACK to U.S. shelves THIS MONTH. *heavy breathing*

Incredulous, I immediately went to the Post Mills website to see if this was true (I couldn’t handle more heartbreak in the form of another false alarm).

Y’all, it is so real. I may or may not have shed happy tears.

Post Mills knew we’d be anxious to see when/where we could get our hands on the cereal, so they, being kind souls, added a store locator to their website. *bows down* I immediately texted my sister about it, and needless to say she was as #shook as I was.

We’ve waited for this day for so long. Ten years, to be exact.

What do you think? Are you excited for the return of Oreo O’s? Will you give them a try?
