This is almost too good to be true.
Comedian and actor Larry David made the internet’s dreams come true when he revealed on Wednesday that he’s related to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, whom David famously portrayed on Saturday Night Live during the 2016 presidential election cycle. David was a dead ringer for the fiery candidate (heck, he still kind of is).
The Seinfeld creator said he learned of the relation while filming an episode of PBS’ Finding Your Roots, a show where celebrities explore their family trees. From Time magazine:
“I was very happy about that,” the comedian said during an appearance Wednesday at the Television Critics Association press tour, where he was promoting the upcoming return of his HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm. He didn’t say in detail how he and Sanders are connected, telling the audience that the former presidential candidate is “a third cousin or something.”
