Welp! I learned a lot about something called ’90 Day Fiance’ this morning, after someone flagged that it’s a show on the TLC network where couples “take a chance on love.”

It’s reality TV, so there’s a ~twist~. This show involves couples made up of one American and that person’s potential spouse-to-be, a non-American — with potential citizenship at stake. (Yikes.)

According to TLC:

Using a special K-1 “fiance” visa, they are required to get married at the end of only 90 days or, by law, be forced to return to their home countries.

Why am I telling you this? A woman from Claremont is scheduled to be featured this season.

Evelyn, 18 (Claremont, New Hampshire), and David, 27 (Granada, Spain)

Evelyn and David met when he came across the aspiring singer’s social media account, and soon the two began messaging back and forth. Evelyn met David in person and was immediately captivated with his sweet nature and strong Christian values. Now their whirlwind fairy-tale romance could be in jeopardy because his desire to be in a bigger city conflicts with her love of small-town life and close proximity to family.

The new season kicks off Oct. 8.
