UPDATE: There’s now another place to return bottles and cans at the Hartford landfill. Options!

Folks are always asking where the redemption center is and what its hours are, so spread the word.

An employee who wished not to be identified paints a new sign for the White River Redemption location on Nov. 1, 2017, in White River Junction, Vt. The business has moved from the property of the Hartford Solid Waste Transfer center to 568 North Main Street, next to the Listen furniture store (the old 25,000 Gifts.) Hours for White River Redemption, which has recently moved to 568 North Main Street in White River Junction, Vt., next to Listen Furniture. (Valley News – Maggie Cassidy)

Sent to us by Darlene Coutermarsh Levy, whose son works at the redemption center:

The White River bottle/can Redemption Center has relocated from the Town of Hartford landfill location to the building next to the Listen Furniture Store (the old 25,000 Gifts) at the junction of Routes 4 & 5 in White River. Parking is in the small lot on the “downtown” side of the building, NOT in the Listen parking lot. Hours are expanded! Open 9am to 4pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, & Saturday. Closed Thursday & Sunday. Sort your cans & bottles beforehand for faster service 😉 Glass bottles are placed outside.

This is the same redemption service that was located at Cumberland Farms on Route 5 in Wilder (before the $5 million overhaul), run by Tom Patton. An employee on hand today said they opened for business in the new location on Friday.
