Vermont State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two males who allegedly robbed Downers Corner Store early this morning and assaulted an employee.

That employee, June French, was transported to Springfield Hospital for evaluation, according to a news release issued today. Her condition wasn’t immediately known.

The two men, both wearing masks, allegedly entered the store on Route 106 in Weathersfield around 4 a.m., pushed French and stole a variety of cigarettes and cigars.

Anyone who saw suspicious individuals or vehicles parked in the area around that time are urged to call State Police at 802-722-4600.
