You never know what you’ll find in the Valley News office.
We have this unspoken rule that anything left on this table opposite the coat rack near the back entrance is up for grabs — that is, someone is trying to get rid of it and is offering it up to their co-workers before they donate it. I’ve scored some neat books, a CD and my trusty framing square from the free stuff table (I print letterpress, and I’m always trying to make sure things are lined up straight).
On Wednesday, though, I was headed upstairs to our holiday party when something colorful caught my eye, stopping me dead in my tracks:
I’ve seen some weird things left on that table, but I’d never seen any toys (dog toys once, but not human toys). I obviously took a picture, because duh. (I did not take any of the toys.)
Today, however, I came in and noticed that all of the cars had disappeared, leaving what I had initially overlooked: a plastic container full of what appears to be tiny men in shades of yellow, blue and raspberry (aka pink):
I’ll keep y’all posted on whether or not the tiny humans are still there tomorrow. Stay tuned!
