Toymaker Mattel on Tuesday announced it was shaking up its iconic Barbie line, this time focusing on the doll’s longtime partner, Ken.
The company is introducing a new line of Ken dolls with diversified body types, skin tones and hairstyles: One of the dolls rocks a dad bod while another unironically sports a man bun.
Maybe life in plastic ain’t so bad after all.
“By continuing to expand our product line, we are redefining what a Barbie or Ken doll looks like to this generation,” Barbie senior vice president and general manager Lisa McKnight said in a statement.
In related news, the company also announced it is introducing 25 additional “diverse Barbie dolls,” according to Forbes. Yay Mattel!
