‘There are a lot of sailors in these hills’ BY Maggie | FILED UNDER: UPPER VALLEY | ON December 4, 2017 | TAGGED: corinth vt, instagram, shawn braley When Tania Aebi sailed into New York harbor, on Nov. 6, 1987, she became an international sensation as the first American woman and, at the time, the youngest person ever to sail around the world alone, at age 21. After the nonstop, 52-day, 3,000-mile push across the North Atlantic from Gibraltar on the southern coast of Spain to New York City, she found a career as a best-selling author, motivational speaker and sailing adventure leader. Today, the 51-year-old Corinth resident continues to lead chartered sailing adventures when she’s not writing, gardening on her 32 acres, tending to her chickens or volunteering at the Blake Memorial Library. ➡️ Aebi is the latest person to be profiled by Valley News graphic artist Shawn Braley in his Illustrated Interview series. Read a Q&A with her at www.vnews.com (direct link in profile), where you can also find the rest of the series. ⬅️ (Valley News – Shawn Braley @shawnbraleyillustration) #vnewsuv #uppervalley #upval #journalism #corinthvt #vt #vermont #802 #sail #sailing #sailor #writer #author #compass #ship #ocean #navigate #voyage #adventure #interview #journalism #profile #illustration #⛵️ A post shared by Valley News (@vnewsuv) on Dec 4, 2017 at 7:51am PST RELATED: Illustrated Interview: Tania Aebi, of Corinth Illustrated Interviews by Shawn Braley Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window) Related Submit a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
