According to Darren Carter, of Midnight Auto Recovery Services, the road was detoured for most of Tuesday because of this calamity caused by -26 degree Fahrenheit weather.
“This poor guy was driving to work when the telephone pole snapped because of the cold and landed on top of his truck,” Carter said on Facebook. “Luckily no one was hurt!”
Carter told me he was called to the scene by Enfield police and performed the vehicle recovery with his son, Andrew, who works for him. They responded before the sun rose and the road was reopened after 3 p.m.
