Philly is notorious for having, well, very enthusiastic fans. City officials knew this, so they decided to ~be smart~ ahead of Sunday’s NFC Championship game with the Minnesota Vikings.
Act I
It started with a simple request from city officials: “Hey, Eagles fans, plz refrain from climbing light poles if the team wins (or loses).” To further discourage climbing, “Crisco cops” were out in full force greasing light poles prior to kickoff.
Good morning from Philly where crews from the city are greasing the light poles with Crisco to prevent #Eagles fans from climbing after the #NFCChampionshipGame tonight. #Vikings pregame coverage starts at 3 on FOX9. They call themselves the #CriscoCops pic.twitter.com/w1ZkYWZhYG

Act II
Fans were like, “Challenge accepted.”
If the Eagles win, one of their fans has to get to the top of a Crisco pole. It's like the challenge in Mulan. Otherwise they have no chance, no heart.

Act III
Spoiler alert: The Eagles won by a lot. Some fans, like this guy, decided the best way to show their joy was to scale a light pole, duh. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. (To be fair, though, it was the playoffs.)
