#tbt: 1️⃣ & 2️⃣ About 100 eager children at poolside squirmed to get into the swim of things in White River Junction, #VT, on June 24, 1967, as #HartfordVT town officials and invited guests dedicated the new $97,000 pool (3️⃣). 4️⃣ After speeches were completed, Muriel Kibby, of the Hartford School Board, cast a #wreath of #flowers upon the water of the new #pool, naming the facility after former Hartford Selectman Sherman Manning. The first pool in town was built on Manning’s land in 1957. ▪️ The pool is closed this summer as committee of Hartford residents studies options for its future.
